Primarily a painter, Jane’s work ranges from abstract mixed-media landscape and collage to expressive watercolours and drawings.

Her work is sensory, capturing the feeling and memory of a garden, a landscape, a place. Using line and repetition, she often paints from life in her garden at home and the RHS garden at Wisley, working within the rhythm of the seasons.

She is drawn to strong colours, but always chooses a limited palette to reflect the subject and time of year.

Informed by her background in illustrated book publishing and her Foundation at UCA Farnham, Jane’s work often has a strong graphic element.
